చావంటే భయం లేని ఒక అనాధ పిల్లాడు..తనకి తానే సర్దార్ గబ్బర్ సింగ్ అని పేరు పెట్టుకుంటాడు. అతని ధైర్యాన్ని చూసిన ఓ పోలీస్ అధికారి (తనికెళ్ళ భరణి) తన ఇంటికి తీసుకెళ్ళి పెంచుతాడు.అతను పెరిగి పెద్దయి, పోలీస్ ఇన్స్పెక్టర్ అవుతాడు. అతనే హీరో,సర్దార్ గబ్బర్ సింగ్. ఇండియా నేపాల్ బోర్డర్ లో పనిచేస్తున్న సర్దార్ ను రతన్ పూర్ ట్రాన్స్ఫర్ చేస్తారు. రతన్ పూర్ లో ఉండే భైరవ్ సింగ్, ప్రజల ఆస్తులు ఆక్రమించుకుని దౌర్జన్యాలు చేస్తుంటాడు. రతన్ పూర్ లోనే ఓ రాజకుటుంబం. ఆ కుటుంబం లో అర్షి(కాజల్) యువరాణి. సర్దార్, అర్షి తొలిచూపులోనే ప్రేమలో పడతారు.ఇక, భైరవ్ సింగ్ అక్రమాలను సర్దార్ అడ్డుకుంటాడు. దానితో వీరిద్దరికీ వైరం మొదలవుతుంది. అర్షి పై మోజుపడ్డ భైరవ్ సింగ్ తన పలుకుబడి ఉపయోగించి, సర్దార్ అర్షితలను వేరుచేస్తాడు. రతన్ పూర్ ప్రజలకి, భైరవ్ సింగ్ నుండి దురాగతాల నుండి సర్దార్ ఎలా విముక్తి కల్గించాడు, అర్షిని ఎలా తిరిగిదక్కించుకున్నాడు అన్నదే మిగతా కథ.

ఎలా తీసారు?
ఏ మాత్రం కొత్తదనం లేని ఈస్టోరీ ని దర్శకుడు బాబి తన మేకింగ్ స్టైల్ తో కొత్తగా చూపించాడు. హీరో, విలన్, హీరోయిన్ ఇలా ఇది ఒక ఫార్ములా సినిమానే అయినా, కథకి ఎంచుకున్న నేపథ్యం, పాత్రల స్వభావాలు, అంతకు మించి కామెడి తో సర్దార్ ని బాబి తెరకెక్కించాడు. దేవిశ్రీ ప్రసాద్ కంపోజ్ చేసిన పాటలు, రామ్ లక్ష్మణ్ కంపోజ్ చేసిన స్టంట్లు బాగున్నాయి. కథలో ఇమడకపోయినా సాయి మాధవ్ బుర్రా రాసిన డైలాగ్స్ బాగున్నాయి.ఆర్థర్ ఏ విల్సన్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బాగుంది. ఎడిటింగ్ లో గౌతంరాజు కు మరింత స్వేచ్చ ఇచ్చి ఉండాల్సింది.
ఎలా చేసారు?
తన అభిమానులకి ఈ సినిమాని అంకితం చేసిన పవన్ కల్యాణ్, తన ఫ్యాన్స్ తన నుండి ఏమి కోరుకుంటారో, అవన్నీ ఈ సినిమాలో అందించే ప్రయత్నం చేసాడు. కామెడి అయితే చాలా బాగా చేసాడు. బ్రహ్మానందం, అలి, పృథ్వి, జబర్దస్త్ గ్యాంగ్ ఇలా ఇంతమంది కమెడియన్స్ ఉన్నా వారందరికన్నా పవనే ఎక్కువ కామెడి పండించాడు. కాజల్ పాటలకే పరిమితం అయింది. విలన్ గా శరద్ కేల్కర్ పరవాలేదని పించాడు. ఇక మిగతా పాత్రలు పెద్దగా చెప్పుకోవడానికి ఏమీ లేవు.
